Scrumptious New Holiday Flavor Alterra / Flavia Coffees!

Alterra Pumpkin Spice Coffee for Flavia Single Cup Machines
Gingerbread Alterra Coffee
It's finally happened- Flavia / Alterra has come out with two delish holiday flavors for 2012: Gingerbread & Pumpkin Spice coffees!

These new Alterra holiday flavor, single cup Flavia filterpacks are so tasty and can be served many ways at your holiday get-togethers. Also, they don't come in traditional rails. Rather, they arrive in new special edition flip-top boxes that are cute enough to keep out on the counter.

The new Pumpkin Spice is a tasty, fragrant blend of cinnamon and nutmeg. The Gingerbread flavor is a combo of cloves, cinnamon and ginger. Both are in a black coffee base. You can use them with the indulgence flavor setting (2-pack) on your Flavia machine, combined with the cappuccino. Or, blend with your favorite coffee creamer for a smooth trendy drink. Eggnog makes a great creamer for both of these drinks, and a dollop of brandy takes it to the party level.

The special edition holiday display boxes make great gifts for your Alterra / Flavia drinking family & friends. No need to even wrap the Alterra Gingerbread coffee - just add a bow and gift tag and it's pretty enough for under the tree. The Alterra Pumpkin Spice is nice enough to sit on your Thanksgiving buffet table.

These new flavors are limited editions- don't expect them to be around come springtime.Get em' while they got em.

Flavia / Alterra Indulgence Beverages - Sooo Tasty & Versatile!

One can make so many tasty & awesome drinks with the single cup Flavia / Alterra "Indulgence" flavors! You'll find yourself coming up with new recipes on the fly.

What are the "Indulgence" beverages? There are only 3, but once you know how to use them, they are sure to become a fave. These drinks are: Dove hot chocolate; Milky Way Swirl; Cappuccino Swirl. They are to be used with the 2 step setting on your Flavia coffee machine. After setting your machine correctly, put the Indulgence packet in, let it finish, and then put your other packet in. If you have an electronic Flavia machine, it will prompt you to change packets.

On example of a simple indulgence recipe is your basic choco-coffee drink. That's a Dove packet plus any coffee flavor you like- but the Hazelnut & Vanilla are the most popular coffees to use with the Dove. You might also combine the Dove with Peppermint Herbal Bright Tea to make a Peppermint Patty type drink that can be served over ice. (Let it cool off a bit before icing.)

With your Cappuccino Latte Swirl packet, you can make many frothy drinks, cheaper and more tasty than a certain coffee chain that charges way too much. For instance, combine your Cappuccino Latte Swirl with Espresso or Barista's Blend for a simple classic. You can use *any* kind of coffee with this packet, but another interesting combo is the Chai Latte- use the Chai Spice tea with the Cappuccino and you'll have yourself a smooth yet spicy treat.

Milky Way Swirl- it's a delicious topper-offer for any coffee, but Vanilla in particular. It makes a smooth, velvety drink that will totally remind you of the Milky Way candy bars you know and love. Milky Way Swirl can also be combined with Dove chocolate. If you're feeling really crazy you can get a large mug and combine Dove, Milky Way, and Cappuccino.

Delicious Flavia / Alterra Teas by the Bright Tea Co.!

The Bright Tea Co. specialty teas are now being made for the Flavia single cup beverage system. The Flavors have some of the same themes, but different names and somewhat different recipes.

Currently, there are 10 flavors of Bright Teas available. The quality is the same or better than the old Flavia recipes, so you don't have to worry about being disappointed in the new flavors! The packaging is at once trendy and yet more classic, and the colors are bright, much more attractive to have sitting on your counters at home or the front room of your corporate office.

The two classic "British" brews, Earl Grey & English Breakfast, have the same name. The next most popular Bright Teas by Alterra / Flavias are the Asian style teas: Green Tea with Jasmine is a fragrant treat, with every sip you get an ever-so-slight breath of jasmine flower (it's best flavored with honey). Bright Tea Japanese Green is the traditional Sencha / Matcha reminiscent of the elegant Japanese tea ceremonies. Select Green is a stronger green packed with antioxidents.
Another fragrant choice is Bright Tea Co. White Tea with Orange. It is a delicate white brew overlaid with just a hint of orange essence. Chai Spice is just like the old Flavia Exotic Chai, but a tad spicier, with a slightly more prominent cinnamon base. Bright Tea Co. Peppermint Herbal is an excellent beverage to sip when you've got a cold (helps open up those airways); when you have mild stomach irritations (Peppermint is a traditional remedy for stomach complaints); Raspberry Herbal is a bit of a pick-me-up: It's somewhat peppery and a tweak in the nose. Bright Tea Lemon Herbal? Calm and laid back and very tasty.

Many of the teas are as good iced as they are served warm. The Peppermint Herbal & White with Orange are especially refreshing when cold.

If you've never tried the new Bright Tea Co. teas, now's the time.

It's been a year- How is Alterra Coffee from Flavia Faring?

It's been about a year since Flavia coffees & teas from M&M Mars released it's new recipes from the well known coffee chain, Alterra Roasters and Bright Teas. (For the one-cup Flavia systems.)

So how has it gone over?  Flavia distributors, at first, were understandably apprehensive about how loyal Flavia coffee drinkers would feel about the changed and somewhat new recipes. Aside from only the (very few) most cantankerous and stubborn of customers, the new Alterra & Bright Tea flavors have been gladly accepted and enjoyed by all.

Of the newest flavors, Alterra Barista's Blend has been clearly the biggest new favorite! It's a dark, smoky roast, reminiscent of Flavia's discontinued Intense Dark Roast, but with a much more complex flavor.

A medium roast that is gaining popularity is Alterra Foundry Blend- a plain and simple, yet tasty choice perfect for an after dinner brew.

Of course, the old faves are still going strong, though they have slightly different recipes and names. For instance, the old Flavia Breakfast Blend is now Alterra Morning Roast. Flavia Exotic Chai tea is now "Chai Spice".

Even the Alterra Flavia one-cup packets have gotten a real face-lift. They now sport a more trendy, colorful profile, featuring modern graphics. The Bright Tea packets are styled to enhance their focus on eco-friendly, sustainability, important to the modern consumer.

If you haven't tried the new Alterra coffees and Bright Co. Teas, then let yourself in for a treat- Join the thousands of happy Alterra fans!

The New Alterra Coffees... Where Do You Start?

Predictably, many people are not quite sure what to order based on their previous Flavia favorites.

It's easy to find a new Alterra flavor that will satisfy just like your Flavia. The key to figuring out what you're likely to enjoy from the new line is in the type of roast you're accustomed to. The new Alterra flavors are just as tasty and satisfying as your old Flavia recipes- but the recipes are definitely different, and that includes flavor intensities. Some of the flavors that used to be light are now medium, and some of the flavors are altogether new. The following is an explanation of how you can be sure to order flavors comparable to the ones you've always liked.

Flavia and Alterra have 3 basic levels of roasting, with 2 flavored varieties.

The lightly roasted Flavia coffees are Breakfast Blend, Kenya, House Blend, and House Blend Decaf. The new Alterra coffees that correspond to these light roasts are Morning Roast, Alterra House Blend, Alterra House Blend Decaf, and Alterra Costa Rica.

Medium Roasts from Flavia included Kona, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, and Columbia. With Alterra, the medium roasts will include some flavors of the same name, but some new flavors as well: Kona and Columbia are the familiar names with new recipes, while Altera Artisan Roast and Foundry Blend are the newcomers.

Your old Flavia dark roasts included French Roast, French Roast Decaf, Sumatra, and Espresso Roast. These names are carried on the the new Alterra dark roasts, with one new addition- Barista's Blend, which many say is the equivalent of the old Flavia Intense Dark Roast.

If you'd like to see a nice, colorful chart that shows this same data, follow this link:

Big Raves for the New Alterrra Roasters Coffees and Bright Teas!

So far, it's been a great reception for the new line of coffee and teas made for the Flavia single-cup beverage systems. Alterra Roasters, the great Midwestern coffee chain, has hit a home run with both their new flavors, and their old favorite Flavia recipes.

The coffees are bolder, and somewhat fresher tasting- and that's a big deal since Flavia coffees were already ultra-fresh. For instance, the new Alterra Kona blend has that same wonderful, earthy and fruity taste with no bitterness- yet it's somehow more intense.

The Bright Co. teas are just what their name implies- bright, and a little more intense than before. The Chai is a little spicier, the Lemon is a little twangier.

For a familiar, yet freshly bold new take on your Flavia faves, be sure to try out all the Alterra and Bright Tea flavors.

Flavia Coffee goes Viral!

Have you ever bought something that you just couldn't wait to show your friends and family? A new car, maybe that 60" plasma TV...

Now, have you ever shared an item where everyone goes out and gets their own?
Probably not, but we've got one :-)

The Flavia single cup coffee system is truly revolutionary: it removes all of the lifelong negatives involved with making a great cup of coffee at home. And people LOVE IT! We hear stories every day about customers are buying a Flavia Fusion or other Flavia Drinks Station for several members of their family. Then, we hear about it spreading to their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and so on for a surprising run of that community.

Everyone is amazed at how cool the filterpack concept is. (If you don't know what I mean, watch our Creation 400 demonstration in this blog.) But, once they taste the great gourmet coffee and teas that come out of this machine, they have to have it.

Not only can it make everything from Cappuccinos, Mochaccinos, Lattes, Flavored coffees, Dark & Mild Roasts, Wellbeing Drinks, Real Leaf Teas, Milky Way Creations, & Hot Cocoa, but it does it with No Mess & Absolutely No Flavor Mixture in about 35 seconds! These drink stations delivery coffeehouse barista quality like no other machine. A frequent comment we hear..."I can't believe this came from a machine...It's too good!"

Another comment I've heard twice and will never forget... " This is the best thing I have bought in my LIFE!" Yes, people are nuts about our great coffee :-)

So, if you're a true coffee connoisseur, do those around you a big favor by introducing them to the Flavia phenomenon. They'll remember your revelation every morning for years to come!

Thank all of you for the wonderful stories that you have shared with us.
